Shepherd to Sheep

Mark 14:50-52

And they all left Him and fled. And a certain young man was following Him, wearing but a linen sheet over his naked body; and they seized him. But he left the linen sheet behind, and escaped naked.

This young man is thought to be Mark himself, the author of the gospel of Mark. Though conventional wisdom had told the others to leave in haste, this young man, maybe a bit impetuous, possibly emboldened by child-like faith, or filled with curiosity, he followed along, and then was snatched by Jesus' captors. His narrow escape, alludes to the thought that God had a plan other than capture for this young man. For us today, we might face challenges that that want to impede us or hinder from what God has for us, yet the Lord is so gracious to make that way for us, or our loved ones. Mark would go on to live his life for the Lord, to love Him and serve Him. Whatever or wherever we are at, don't discount the fact that God has a plan for all of us.

Women's Prayer - Happens this Saturday the 11th, here at the chapel at 7:30 a.m. Join the men for worship, and then break off with the other ladies in the overflow for a time of prayer.

Don't Take a Prayer Need Home With You - Right after the service, men and women are available to pray for any need you may have. Don't leave church without receiving prayer.

Prayer Points

Lahaina Recovery - Continue to keep in prayer the people of Lahaina and for the entirety of Maui. Long term effects and status of rebuilding, housing for the displaced, job recovery and financial ramifications all come into recovery efforts.

River of Life Mission - Continue to keep the ROLM in prayer during their ongoing outreach into the community. Keep the staff as well as the guests and ministry partners in prayer.

California Wildfire - Continue to pray for the many families affected by the fires.

East Coast - Continue to pray for the ongoing hurricane relief work on the east coast.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem - As the Middle East heats up, pray for the nation of Israel along with all of those in this region who have come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
