"Now Barzillai the Gileadite had come down from Rogelim; and he went on to the Jordan with the king to escort him over the Jordan."

This one Barzillai was one to come along side and give aid to David and his band as they were on the run from Absolom. He had supplied much food and drygoods, along with linens and utensils. Though advanced in age, he still stood by as one available in the service of the Lord. David would go onto encouraging him to come and enjoy his hospitality in Jerusalem, yet he would graciously refuse the kings invitation. He was one who was quite satisfied with where God had him. No fancy courts of the royal palace, or the extragance of royal oppulence, but humbly worshipping, waiting on the Lord's next set of instructions, content where he was at. We're never told how long this man lived, but we can only surmise that he was one who lived loving the Lord, in service and worship of Him.

Opportunities

"I'm Okay, I'm Good"--Answers we've often heard. At times we come to church burdened, and we go home taking the same burden, rather than asking for prayer. Don't take your burdens home with you today.

Prayer Points

Lahaina Rebuild - Prayer for our Sister Churches - We stand in the gap for our fellow Calvary Chapels, many going through things of transition, some even going through pilikia. We stand in a tenuous place, praying for the wellbeing of the church. Don't discount our effectiveness as we pray for God's best for the church family.

River of Life Mission - As the volume of meals and ministry opportunities have ramped up at the River of Life Mission, please keep all the staff and guests, as well as the neighboring community, in prayer.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem - As the Middle East heats up, pray for the nation of Israel along with all of those in this region who have come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
